Smart Dubai Office and RIT Dubai Launch First Corporate Happiness Program in Region

The Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) Dubai and the Smart Dubai Office (SDO) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to launch the first Corporate Happiness Program in the region.   The MoU, which was signed in the presence of SDO Director General H.E. Dr. Aisha Bin Bishr and RIT Dubai President Yousef Al Assaf, will further improve the ties between the two establishments.   The program aims to educate senior professionals on the scientific and practical notions of happiness and give them the tools to bring the knowledge they have gained back to the workplace.   It also plans to create a Corporate Happiness strategic plan to support corporate environments in the UAE by providing them with practical ideas and frameworks.   The Corporate Happiness Program will help fulfill the Happiness Agenda launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai earlier this year, said Bishr. 

“In line with the 'Educate' portfolio of the agenda, learnings from the program will be implemented in the workplace resulting in happier employees, leading to happier customers, helping us attain His Highness' vision of 95% happiness levels across the city. The Rochester Institute of Technology Dubai has already been a dedicated partner of the Smart Dubai initiative and the Corporate Happiness Program will add to the portfolio of programs provided by the Institute to boost smart and happy learning in the city," she added.   The five-month program consists of six modules, where classes are held only three days per month. Students will receive lecture modules from subject experts and will be expected to take part in case study discussions and project work. They will also have access to Gallup’s research repository in the subject.   According to Al Assaf, the launch of this program helps RIT Dubai “drive the technical, educational and social development of Dubai.”   “Smart Dubai has always been heavily involved in our Master of City Science degree, and this new program and joint research activities are the next steps in helping drive the human and technical capital agenda of Dubai," he added.
